Susan G. Tataryn, BComm CA LLB TEP Susan G. Tataryn practices law in the areas of business, taxation and estate planning, and tax litigation. For nearly a decade, she has advised a range of small independents and large enterprises, working with clients in the technology, life science and arts sectors while also working with artists, designers and others in the fashion, entertainment and hospitality industries.
Susan is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan where she obtained Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees in 1987 and 1992, respectively. She obtained the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1990. She was called to the Saskatchewan bar in 1993 and the Ontario bar in 2000.
Before going into private practice, Susan clerked for various judges of the Tax Court of Canada, and was a litigation counsel with the federal Department of Justice, representing the Canada Revenue Agency in income tax, GST, Employment Insurance and Canada Pension Plan appeals. She continues to appear before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court – Trial Division and the Federal Court of Appeal on income tax and GST issues.
Susan has written a number of tax articles and has taught accounting at the University of Saskatchewan and tax at the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission Course.
